Where are the libraries at CGPS?

The Prep School Library is located in the basement of the North Building.

The Middle School Library is located on the 4th floor of the West Building.

The Grammar School Library is located on the 2nd floor of the Grammar School.

What are the library's hours?

The Prep School library's hours are from 8AM to 6PM.*

The Middle School Library is open to students during school hours, except when a class is in session.*

The Grammar School Library is open to students during school hours, except when a class is in session. Parents can come to the library before school hours, from 7:40 to 8:00*

Do you charge fines?

No, the CGPS libraries do not charge fines for lost or late items. We do ask if you have lost a book to let us know, so we can replace it.

How long can I take out a book?

The checkout window for most books is one month, and you are welcome to renew any book for as long as you'd like.

How many books can I check out?

The PS Library does not have a book checkout limit. MS and GS students may check out up to 6 books.

Do you have ebooks or audiobooks? 

Yes! Click here to access our digital collection.

Do you have magazines or newspapers?

Yes! We have digital subscriptions to the New York Times, The Wall St Journal, The Atlantic, The New Yorker, Wired and more. Check our our A-Z Database list for all of our digital subscriptions.

I'm a faculty member, I'd like to show a film to my class. Do you have DVS or a streaming service I can use?

Yes! Click here to access SWANK, our educational film platform. SWANK has a great library of popular films that are often shown in class (think Remember the Titans or Hamlet). The PS Library also has a collection of DVDs available for lending, plus DVD drives.

May I request a book be added to the collection?

Sure! Students and faculty/staff may request as many books as they'd like. Email the librarian in your division to request a title.
